A Butte Fire Art Project

Deadline to drop off your "pieces" has been extended to January 15, 2016. Read below for more details about this healing art project.

Art heals, for an individual or a community. With creativity and imagination we can re-envision our lives when disaster strikes and we have lost so much.

"Pieces" is a public art project, endorsed by both Calaveras and Amador County Arts Councils, to help in the healing process for Butte Fire victims and their community.

We are calling on the public to donate small pieces from the fire's rubble.

Please participate in this project by simply collecting broken dishes, pottery, flower pots, trinkets, small rocks, small pieces of metal, spoons and forks, small hand tools, any other small things that you might find, no larger than 12 inches each.

These are pieces of your lives and hold so many memories.  With them, Murphys artist, Robin Modlin will lead the creation of a mosaic wall or monument in honor of the victims.  We will be literally putting the broken pieces from your lives together to create something new with meaning and beauty.

Contributions to "Pieces" can be dropped off at:
